Chair duet based off work by Frantic Assembly. What was my initial response to the stimulus and why? The stimulus which was given to us was a picture of a man sitting alone surrounded by rubble and broken buildings. Me and Zack looked at all the different possibilities this could be, we looked at having a futuristic approach to creating this and making it very dystopian, When I first looked at it, I thought of the idea of the man discovering a new planet which is completely different to the one he previously was in. Me and Zack the idea of someone else being within this scene but not in the picture almost as if the man was reminiscing on the times and feelings he had. We then though about this being a past relationship and how although they are not together, their life still goes on as if they are.       What were the key stages in developing your physical  theatre piece.   When creating our d...

Photo of answers from questions  Video of group perform ance  What was your initial response to the stimulus and why?  When we first saw this stimulus which was a picture of a disaster/ destruction of buildings. As a group we decided to create a scene based off the rubble around the disaster and work on the idea of being lost / looking for others in situations like this. From thinking of the idea of being lost, we then looked deeper into being lost and how isolated you can feel.  We used physical theatre to create this scene, but we also wanted to add levels this being repetition of simply our breath to show impact and severity of the situation. We took a lot of inspiration from Gecko when creating this piece as we felt they used the idea of creating tension a lot and that is something that we really wanted to show within our work. We also created some sound scaping within our piece to again help build tension, for this we created a...

State clearly and discuss in detail the practitioners that influenced your work and why? One practitioner that influenced our work was Brecht. The reason for being so influenced by Brecht is because we wanted the audience to feel engaged and feel a part of our performance. We created scenes which we though would make the audience feel empathy and real emotion, an example of the scenes we created is the execution scene and an interview scene from his sister's point of view.  We also used physical theatre by using the modern dance within our piece and mime.  What practical performance skills did you and your group apply to your piece. A practical skill I feel we all used effectively was teamwork, as in this lesson we were supposed to be a group of 5 but ended up being a group of 3 due to illness. By this happening, we had to adapt our scenes make them work with only three people. We began by looking at our scenes from the previous week and decided which ones we could k...
